More than 100 North Carolina entrepreneurial companies - from startups to emerging stars - will be making pitches to potential investors at the CED's 33rd Tech Venture Conference.

Executives from new and rising players in artificial intelligence, augmented reality, Internet of Things, fintech, clean tech and much more will be participating.

The Council for Entrepreneurial Development unveiled the lineup Thursday for the conference, which is set for Sept. 19-20 in Raleigh.

Companies will be presenting in a variety of different forums, from a "Demo Room" to the "Showcase" presenters on the main stage.

So far, 13 firms were selected to make presentations as "Showcase" companies.

Five others will be featured as "Emerging technologies" based on their potential to be disruptive to their industries.

Another 21 will have the opportunity to make short presentations in a "Lightning Round."

And 56 will have space for booths in the Demo Room.

Companies from North Carolina as well as New York, Virginia and Washington, D.C. were selected to participate by a screening committee made up of investors and entrepreneurs.

“The committee reviewed an all-time record number of applications, and we are excited to provide exposure for over one hundred companies this year with the addition of the Emerging Technologies presentations and even more Demo Room participants,” said CED’s Jay Bigelow, the organization's director of entrepreneurship.

“Similar to previous years, the selected companies represent a diversity of sub-sectors, but we saw a particular increase in business intelligence, clean tech, and HR tech applicants. From early-stage, to emerging growth, to companies with significant traction, the conference will showcase the full spectrum of entrepreneurial activity in this region and will attract both local and outer-market investors with diverse investment criteria.”

Many of the featured speakers were disclosed earlier this week.
