K4Connect, the F. Scott Moody-founded startup focusing on Internet and tech services to assist older people and those living with disabilities, has hired WebAssign CFO Ellen Grantham to serve as its chief financial officer.

The move follows K4Connect's recent $8 million investment from Intel and a move into a larger Raleigh headquarters.

The company announced Grantham's hiring on Tuesday. A graduate of Meredith College, Grantham was named the region's CFO of the Year in 2016 by the Triangle Business Journal.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Ellen to the K4Connect team, where she brings a breadth of financial expertise as well as a diverse knowledge base that extends into operation and organizational development,” said Moody in the announcement. “Ellen will play a significant role in driving performance as we enhance our current “connected-life” platform, K4Community, and expand our solutions into other markets that serve older adults and people with disabilities.”

Grantham has more than 15 years of business experience.

“What drove me to K4Connect was it’s mission to serve. I’m really excited to aid in accelerating the Company’s mission to empower an underserved generation,” said Grantham. “Leveraging my extensive experience, I can help provide unique insight that informs the decision-making of the entire team, as well as the board of directors, to help support the growth goals of the company.”
